Rylan was my last newborn session in 2015 and he was such a love bug. His cheeks were squishy, he smelled fresh and new and he let me snuggle him. YES! Rylan showed up with his mom and dad in the cutest little outfit which we snuck in a couple pics of him wearing but he really loved when i cranked up the heater and put him on his belly to show off his amazing posing style! He is a little start in the making!
Rylans session took around 3 hours and it is always such a compliment to me when parents tell me how patient I am. I always try to reiterate the time line of newborn sessions and JUST how long they can take but I am never one to rush them along or hurry them up. I LOVE photographing newborns. I love ever second of posing them, shooshing them, then delivering the finished product to mom and dad.
I do every type of session…. but newborn sessions hold a special place in my heart. These sessions are more like fine art to me. I am much more detailed and perfected during these shoots and I honestly feel I could do them all day every day.
It is always an honor to be asked to photograph a brand new baby. They grow so quickly, they change overnight and in the blink of an eye they are no longer newborns. I know this having lived it twice with my two boys. Time is precious…and that is what I love about my job…I get to freeze time.
